Grief is a part of every human story and brings along an unexpected companion…
Hey y’all, welcome to Lovin My Daughter-in-law podcast, where connection, love, and a whole lot of fun come together.
I’m LeAnn Austin, boy mom and teacher turned master certified life coach. Who once had all the feelings, when cute girlies started dating my sons. I had to learn a lot about love, boundaries, and connection, not just with my daughters-in-law, but with myself. That’s how Lovin My Daughter-in-law was born.
So if you’re craving more love, connection, and fun in your life, especially the kind that starts from within, this podcast is for you.
Today’s episode #191: Grief’s Unexpected Companion
This is something that touches every single one of us at some point ~ grief. And not just grief in the “loss of a loved one’s sense,” but grief in all of its forms, changes, disappointments, endings we didn’t expect, even the loss of the way we thought life was supposed to be.
And I also want to talk about something that can walk hand in hand with grief ~ grace.
Here’s the thing: grief is so deeply personal. There’s no timeline, no quote “right” way to do it. And honestly, it can feel like you’re the only one who understands your pain. But that’s where grace comes in. Grace for yourself when you can’t get out of bed. Grace when you feel like you quote “should” be doing better. Grace for others who may not know what to say or how to show up.
I’ve seen in my own life that when I let grace into the grieving process, it softens the edges. It doesn’t take the pain away, but it creates space for breathing, for resting, and even for moments of joy in the middle of the heart.
And speaking of grief and grace, I am so excited to tell you that inside Connection Crew, we have a very special guest, Chris Rich, joining us live on October 7th.
Chris has walked through a variety of grief experiences and has such a deep, beautiful perspective on it. She’s going to be sharing her insights, tools, and stories with us… and the best part is you’ll be able to ask her your own questions live during the call.
If you’ve ever felt unsure about how to navigate grief, your own or someone else’s, this is one conversation you won’t want to miss.
So if you’re not already in Connection Crew, now is the perfect time to join us. You’ll get access to this live call with Chris, plus all of the other tools and resources to help you build connection, navigate life’s ups and downs, and show yourself a little more love along the way.
Remember, grief is part of the human story, but so is grace. Hmm, something to think about.
Be gentle with yourself this week, and I’ll see y’all inside Connection Crew on October 7th with Chris Rich.
Here’s to grief, grace, fun, connection, and love. Have a good one y’all.
