Hey y’all, welcome to Lovin My Daughter-in-law, episode number 155: Pleasantly Persistent

I was talking to a client recently, and she mentioned she was pleasantly persistent. I hadn’t heard persistence phrased this way before, and I thought it was a beautiful way to be…pleasantly persistent.

I believe persistence is a skill that we can all learn and practice. And the art of being determined and committed while maintaining kindness and positivity, basically balancing assertiveness with grace, this is a pleasant bonus.

So here are 3 ways why being pleasantly persistent matters.

First, when you’re working on a goal, you understand your goal and why it matters to you. You’re more optimistic and better able to overcome the obstacles that come up when you’re pleasantly persistent.

Second, in your relationships, you’re thoughtful in your requests, you acknowledge the other person’s perspective, and you build trust as you show others that you value their time while staying committed to and pleasantly persistent to your own.

And third, for your own self growth, being pleasantly persistent encourages resilience and consistency without burnout. You follow up regularly with purpose and tact. Instead of seeing something as a failure, you see it as a stepping stone to refine your approach.

I encourage you to think of times in your life when being pleasantly persistent has worked for you? Send me a message and tell me about it if you’d like.

And, a final takeaway, because you know I love acronyms. When thinking of being pleasantly persistent, hone in on the word persist. P is for polite. E is for empathetic. R is for respectful. S is for strategic. I is for intentional. S is for steady. And T is for tactful. Persist. Hmm, something to think about.
