Hey y’all, welcome to Lovin My Daughter-in-law, episode #153: The Treasure Map Approach
It’s January 2025 y’all. And, if you’re anything like me, you might be spinning your wheels thinking about your goals for the year. Or maybe beating yourself up over what you didn’t accomplish last year. Let’s stop that right now. This year, let’s try something new. Something that will set us up to make 2025 the best year yet.
What if, instead of stressing over goals, we approach them like a journey to uncover hidden treasure? Here’s what the treasure map approach looks like.
First, create your personal treasure map. Just like a pirate plans their route to treasure, you’ll plan out your goal. Each mini goal becomes an X on the map, leading you closer to the ultimate treasure, your big goal.
Second, gather your tools and crew. Pirates don’t set sail without a compass, a spyglass, or a crew. What about you? Think about the skills, resources, and people that can support you on your journey. That’s what we do in the Connection Crew Membership. Join us there and be part of that amazing crew.
Third, prepare for rough seas. Every pirate faces storms and rival pirates. For you, these might show up as self doubt, setbacks, or unexpected challenges. Have a plan to handle these obstacles when they come up. You’ll be ready to weather the storm.
Fourth, celebrate small treasures. Every milestone on the journey is worth celebrating. These mini treasures help you stay motivated and remind you just how far you’ve come.
Fifth, keep your eye on the prize. The journey might have twists and turns, but staying focused on your ultimate treasure keeps you moving forward. Persistence and resilience are your secret weapons.
And sixth, know and love your why. Just like a compass keeps a pirate on course, your why keeps you aligned with your goal. Remember, your reason doesn’t have to be huge or profound. It’s yours, and that’s enough.
So, there you go. Your treasure map approach for 2025. If you’re ready to connect with amazing people who are stretching their mental and emotional muscles as they chase their treasures, join us in Connection Crew.
This month, we’re diving into the five basics to set yourself up for success this year and help you uncover whatever treasure you desire.
Let me leave you with a quote to inspire your journey. This is by Paulo Coelho: “Everyone on earth has a treasure that awaits them.” Hmm, something to think about.
Here’s to treasure maps, connection, and love.
