Hey y’all, welcome to Lovin My Daughter-in-law, episode #176: It’s A Good Day with Luke Cardon
I love observing and connecting with other humans, especially noting how they feel and implement love into their lives and their relationships. So excited to have Luke here with us today. Just a little side note on him, Luke has williams syndrome and I have been blessed to live near him for the past 14 years, and he brings so much love into every room he walks into. So very excited that he’s going to share some things with us today.
We have the amazing Luke sharing some beautiful love and relationship insights with us today. Alright Luke, tell us a little bit about you.
Hey everybody. I’m Luke. I’m happy to be here. I love that you just light up a room wherever you are. So I love that about you, Luke. That’s awesome. Okay, well I’ve got five questions for you, so I’ll go with the first question. How do you incorporate love into your life and how does that impact your relationships?
Well, love is one of the things you should have in your life. And, I think love is a powerful thing. We do a lot of things for love and loving people and getting to know people is a great thing.
Yes, I love that Luke, and you are love Luke, like you radiate love. Do you feel that? Do you know how much you light people up? I do sometimes. Yeah. I think yeah. That’s awesome. Well, I love that. Thank you. I love how you incorporate it into your life and it’s just who you are. That’s beautiful. Alright, so tell me something you love about you and why.
What do I love about myself? Yes. I love that I’m pretty chill. I think, I feel like I’m a great person. I love that. Yeah. What else were you gonna say? I’m sorry. No, you’re good.
Well, I mean, love is great. Mm-hmm. Everybody needs love. Even when they don’t deserve it. We don’t always feel love for some people, do we? No, no. And that’s okay too. Yeah. Yeah. It’s fine. It’s all good. Yeah. Yep. That’s okay too. Yeah.
Well, I love that you recognize it and you just love you as a human. That’s pretty cool because some people don’t love themselves. Yeah, and especially like right now. The world is crazy. Yeah. And so I think taking care of yourself and like eating good food, and being with family, if you have family or friends. Or it could be an animal, my dog, Charlie. Aw, you like that dog, Charlie? Yeah. He’s great. That’s awesome. Yeah, that makes a big difference. Those relationships that we create.
All right, so you know that I love to talk about relationships and connections with others, and I think that daughter-in-law/mother-in-law relationship has lots of examples. So are there any thoughts on any daughters-in-law or mothers in-law that you know, that you wanna share? Or it could be on any relationship.
I don’t know. Right, well tell me more about the relationship with Charlie. Me and my Charlie man, we hang out. I give him food, of course. Me and him watch tv. He chases the deer away in our backyard. I love it. Yeah. And so, yeah, he has helped me through a lot of things.
Mmmm. How has he done that? How has he helped you through some things? 2020 was hard. So we were looking for something, we didn’t know what to do. Cause it was 2020 and then my brother Adam got a goldendoodle and then my sister got a goldendoodle. So, my sister Erica and me, we got two dogs from the same litter. And I guess Charlie was the, I think he was the last one. I think we picked the last dog. Okay. And so he’s great. I love him. He makes me smile. He makes me laugh a lot. It’s amazing how much connection animals can help us with and how we just feel that love, like when we walk in a room and they’re just so excited to see us. Yeah. That’s so fun. I love that. Awesome.
Well, is there anything else you’d like to share and where can our audience go to learn more about you or follow you? They can follow me on Facebook @luke.cardon or instagram @lccgoal or even both. Okay, perfect. I’ll put the link in the show notes. Recently I got Snapchat again, so. Oh, did you? Okay. Yeah. Well, I don’t know how to link that. So we’ll just stick with Facebook. Yeah. Okay.
Well, tell us, maybe if you want to share like, your love for sports or anything else that you wanna share? Yeah, so I have a passion for sports. Yeah. I like football, basketball, and soccer. Mmm. I mean, any sport is great. I recently watched the Masters. Ah, nice. Yeah, it was very relaxing. I think it’s, I think it’s fun to watch sports. That’s how I get through the day. Or I hang out with family, or I hang out with Charlie, or go to my high school’s games.
Yes. And don’t you help, like you’ve helped coach some high school games, and stuff like that, right? Yeah. Yeah. I helped with the football team, basketball team, and soccer. Ah, I love that. Yeah. And I still help out with the soccer team. You do? Oh, that’s awesome Luke. That’s cool.
Yeah. So what’s your favorite sport to play? Because I know you play some sports too. Which one do you like most? I play tennis. Okay. Tennis. Yeah, I like tennis. Tennis, it’s great. Yeah. Last May I got third place in Special Olympics for tennis. What? That’s amazing, Luke. I love that you’re kind of a rock star at tennis then. Yeah, I’ve been playing it since I’ve moved here. Ah, well, now will you teach me a few things, man. That’s pretty cool.
And then, also recently I played special Olympics bowling. You did? Yeah. It was really, really fun. And I think I got second place. No way. Third, well, one of the two. Yeah, I love that. So tennis and bowling, those are kind of your two top ones. Yeah. Those are the ones that I know how to play pretty well. Ah, that’s awesome. Yeah. Well, I love that you’re rocking it at that. That’s so fun. Anything else that you wanna share? I don’t know.
Okay. Do you have a favorite quote or a question about love that you wanna share that you’ve used? Yeah. Okay, there’s a quote up in my bathroom: “It’s a good day to have a good day. Ah, I love it. That’s the quote up in my room. Oh. And you see that every time you’re in your room. It’s a good day to have a good day. Hmm, something to think about. That is beautiful, Luke.
Well, I so appreciate you being here and you are just a light and a love. I know I’ve been blessed to know you for the past 14 ish years whenever you moved here to Georgia. Isn’t that crazy? It’s crazy. I know. And it’s just, you walk in a room and your smile just lights everyone up and I just admire and love that so much it. So much about you. So blessed to, to know you, and I appreciate all the love that you radiate. You’re pretty amazing Luke. Thanks.
