This powerful poem by Cassie Phillips called Let Them, is a beautiful reminder to let others live their own lives, without trying to control or fix anything.
This aligns so well with The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins, a book full of insights on releasing control and creating more peace in our relationships.

Hey y’all, welcome to Lovin My Daughter-in-law, episode #170: Let Them & Let Me
I heard a poem from Cassie Phillips titled Let Them. These beautiful words encourage us to let others live their own lives and make their own decisions. Here’s the poem:
Let them have their own story.
Let them fail and rise.
Let them wander and wonder,
Chasing the stars in their own skies.
Let them make mistakes.
Let them face the unknown.
Let them feel the winds of change,
And grow in ways they’ve never known.
Let them dance with their own rhythm.
Let them find their own beat.
Let them stumble and stand tall,
Let their hearts feel complete.
Let them go through the hard times.
Let them taste the sweet.
Let them learn to be themselves,
With no one else to defeat.
Let them be who they are meant to be,
Free from judgment, free from fear.
Let them live, let them grow.
Let them know that they are near.
Ah! This poem expresses the concept of giving others the freedom to be themselves, to experience life on their own terms, and to grow in their own way. It’s basically a celebration of independence, self expression, and the importance of allowing space for others journey.
I love learning, and recently I read the book, The Let Them Theory, by Mel Robbins. What a fascinating book, so many insights to explore. This will be our focus in Connection Crew throughout the month of May.
So, how do we let them and let me?
Mel says: “Acceptance of another person, as they are, is the foundation of a healthy and loving relationship. When someone feels that you accept them as they are, they feel safe with you. The opposite happens when you pressure, change, criticize, push, or expect someone to behave differently than they are. This pressure puts you and your loved one in a battle for control.”
What a perfect time to really let others be them and let you be you, especially with Mother’s Day fast approaching and more family get togethers as well. Because remember, where love flows, connection grows.
